About Julie

Julie has been a writing teacher and director of writing centers at colleges and universities in the Twin Cities. Before her academic career, she was a freelance editor and writer. She was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) several years ago and then diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), which is likely the cause of the chronic fatigue. As she has often told her students, she believes in the importance of learning how to write well, because someday, there might be something you really want to say.
